Notre Dame football OL commit has 'through the roof' potential, says analyst
The Notre Dame football team has plenty of commits in the 2025 class that Irish fans should be excited about. Even if Deuce McKnight is no longer part of that group, Marcus Freeman and company found a way to fill his spot with Blake Hebert.
While there are many players from top to bottom who seem like they should get fans excited for what’s to come, one player has “through the roof” potential, according to one analyst.
Will Ivins of 247Sports recently talked about the guy who impressed him the most, and he landed on offensive lineman Will Black. To be fair, Black is impressive to everyone who sees him, but Ivins sang his praises the most on a recent podcast episode.
Notre Dame football commit Will Black has “through the roof” talent
“I’m going to go with … Will Black. This big mountain of a human. He's originally from Canada, prepping in Connecticut. Someone, we just haven't had a ton of eyes on exposure … we’re going to get him at the All-American Bowl, hopefully in January. Fingers crossed.”
“We know he's going to measure well. Well, likely going to be an all-lobby type of individual. But what does he look like when he’s matched up with these twitched-up speed edge rushers, right? Every year, we see some of these high-profile tackles show up in San Antonio, battle it out during one-on-ones in the Alamo Dome, and they struggle. I'm not sure Will Black has really seen that level of talent. There’s likely going to be a little bit of a learning curve.”
“But, man, if it all comes together with him, he's got a first-round ceiling.”
The Notre Dame football team certainly hopes that Will Black can find that ceiling and shoo through the roof while realizing his full potential.
