Notre Dame football fans have waited a long time to see their beloved team get back to the top of the college football mountain. That's why the Fighting Irish will be well represented in Atlanta, Georgia for Monday night's College Football Playoff Championship Game showdown with Ohio State. In fact, fans will have an opportunity to see some of the stars from the 1988 National Championship team break down this year's title game when the "Under the Golden Dome" podcast broadcasts live from Atlanta.

Featuring prominent members of Notre Dame's most recent National Championship team such as Ricky Watters, Tony Rice, Michael Stonebreaker, Pat Terrell, Frank Stams, Stan Smagala, Wes Pritchett, and more, the podcast will air live from Whitehall Tavern in Atlanta starting at 7:30 PM on Saturday, January 18. The broadcast can be streamed on "Under the Golden Dome's" YouTube channel.

Fans will want to tune in because there will be some big-name guests joining the cast including Ohio State head coach Ryan Day.

Of course, the 1988 Notre Dame football team holds a special place in the hearts of Irish fans. That team started the season ranked No. 13 nationally but defeated four top-10 teams including No. 3 West Virginia in the 1989 Fiesta Bowl 34-21 to secure the National Championship, the 11th national title in program history.

Since then, Irish fans have been waiting for another championship to come to South Bend. The program has come close playing for it all in 2012 but falling to No. 2 Alabama in the BCS National Championship Game.

Now, the Irish will look to get back to where the program belongs by taking down the Buckeyes in Atlanta and ending a 37-year National Championship drought. What better way to get ready for Monday's game than tuning in to "Under the Golden Dome" to hear from the stars of the last team to bring a title to Notre Dame? It will be a can't-miss broadcast for Irish fans around the world.
