Marcus Freeman has been working overtime this month with official visitors coming in left and right, trying to build the future of the program. Notre Dame has one of the top recruiting classes in the country, and adding this big-time recruit out of Texas would boost the Fighting Irish even more.
4-star safety Donovan Webb from Frisco, Texas, had been on a couple of official visits throughout the months of May and June and has narrowed his recruitment down to four schools: Texas Tech, Kansas State, Michigan, adn Notre Dame. Webb took his official visit to Michigan last weekend and raved about the program, but his official visit to South Bend this upcoming weekend could easily top that.
Webb is ranked the No. 30 safety in the Class of 2026, the No. 46 player in the state of Texas, and the No. 348 player nationally. With his official visits to Michigan, Texas Tech, and Kansas State all in the past, Notre Dame has the opportunity to give Webb the best official visit and leave a lasting impression before he announces his commitment on July 2.

Marcus Freeman is building an elite 2026 recruiting class
Freeman has been working overtime putting together an elite class of 2026 when it comes to recruiting. Already with 16 commits, Freeman doesn't look like he plans on stopping anytime soon. Notre Dame already has the No. 3 recruiting class in the country, according to 247Sports, and with the potential commitment of Webb, that could raise the Fighting Irish just a little higher.
So far, Freeman only has one safety committed for 2026, so the addition of Webb could be huge for the future of Notre Dame's secondary. It seems Webb definitely wants to stay near the Midwest with his choice of his top four schools, and Notre Dame would be a great place for the young defender to grow and have a chance at the NFL.
