The Notre Dame football team has rattled off three straight wins after an 0-2 start to the season, the latest being a 28-7 victory over the Boise State Broncos. Now the Irish turn their attention to North Carolina State.
The Wolfpack haven't gotten off to the kind of start they were hoping for. After kicking 2025 off with a 3-0 record, including a win over a Virginia squad that is hitting its stride, NC State lost two in a row to Duke and Virginia Tech. They did stop the losing streak this past weekend with a blowout win over Campbell, but they're expected to lose in blowout fashion to the Fighting Irish.
Notre Dame football vs. North Carolina State early odds
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Irish have opened the week as 21.5-point favorites. The usual reason why ND is expected to win is that they have an offense that is among the best in the country.
With quarterback CJ Carr and running backs Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price, it doesn't appear Vegas thinks the Wolfpack will be much of an obstacle to the group getting a ton more yards and points.
The total for this game is 62.5, a relatively high total that shows analysts aren't quite convinced that Chris Ash and Co. are all the way back, even with the return of Leonard Moore. Or, the total shows that analysts expect the Blue and Gold to blow NC State out of the water.
Notre Dame vs. North Carolina State prediction
With the defense back looking more like it did under former defensive coordinator Al Golden, there is no reason why anyone would think the Irish can't handle a North Carolina State squad that lost to Virginia Tech, especially.
Final prediction: Notre Dame football beats North Carolina State 52-17
