In Week 1 of the 2025 college football season, Notre Dame will travel South to play the Miami Hurricanes, and for one player with the Fighting Irish, that game will mean a lot. Notre Dame tight end Kevin Bauman will see a very familiar face on Miami's sideline in Week 1 as his brother Alex Bauman, who transferred to Miami this past offseason, is now with the Hurricanes.
The Bauman family will be a house divided during Week 1 as the brothers will face off against each other for the first time ever, and Kevin certainly had some heart-warming words about the matchup.
"I love my brother to death, I would do anything for him," Kevin said. "Just to have this opportunity right, you think of moments in life that you know don't happen very often."
Aug. 31 will be an emotional one for Notre Dame TE Kevin Bauman as his younger brother, Alex, will be playing TE for Miami.

Special moment for a player who has been through a lot.
"My family is jacked up. My whole family is going to be there...It's just really surreal. pic.twitter.com/LdUVasJY5j
This seems like it is going to be a very special opportunity for both Kevin and Alex. Kevin talked about his connection with his brother and how both have always done stuff together, and now they will be facing each other.
It seems the brothers aren't the only ones excited for this matchup, as the Bauman family is getting geared up for Week 1.
"My family is jacked up," Kevin said. "My whole family is going to be there... It's just really surreal."
While this will be a special day for Kevin, that doesn't mean he still isn't looking at this as an important game for Notre Dame. This will not be an easy matchup for Notre Dame, and a win down in Miami will be a huge start to their season and good momentum before they head over to play Texas A&M in College Station after a bye week.
