In about a week, Notre Dame football is going to head south to Florida to take on Miami in what's easily one of the best games to start the year for college football fans everywhere. Unfortunately, it looks like mother nature could end up spoiling the party a little bit.

This time of the year, it's pretty normal for south Florida to have some pretty unpredictable weather. The latest reports are suggesting that a storm could take center stage for the clash between these two teams. Already, the weather report has indicated that while temps are going to be in the low 80s for kickoff time, rain and thunderstorms are expected.

Unfortunately, next weekend is expected to be filled with rain and lightning could even be in the works. With this game being played on Sunday night, all eyes are going to be on this battle between the two Top 10 squads - both teams are hoping to make an early statement for the 2025 season.

If there's a bunch of rain throughout the night, it's of course going to complicate things for the passing game. Just this week, Marcus Freeman revealed that quarterback CJ Carr is going to be his starter this season, with him winning the job over Kenny Minchey.

There's also going to be a new starter for Miami and Mario Cristobal, as Georgia transfer Carson Beck is running the show for the ACC side now that Cam Ward is in Tennessee with the Titans after he was selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Should Notre Dame have to focus on the ground attack, there's someone by the name of Jeremiyah Love who will be ready to take over. Love is one of the best running backs in the country and he's going to want to remind the country of that under the bright lights in Miami.

Right now, all we can do is hope that the weather cooperates once these two teams take the field. Freeman might have to change his game plan and rethink things, which would also be the case for Mario Cristobal and Co. How the weather changes is something everyone will now keep an eye on moving forward.
