It took no time at all for Notre Dame Fighting Irish women’s basketball star Olivia Miles to find her new home. And it turns out that her new home is becoming quite the landing spot for some of the best players in the sport when they want to get the bag and compete for a National Title.

Miles announced last week she was leaving Notre Dame just a few days after the Irish were bounced out of the NCAA Tournament by Hailey van Lith and the TCU Horned Frogs. Her departure was one of four transfers out that has left head coach Niele Ivey badly needing to rebuild a roster that even some of her players thought might have been a bit too talented.

It turns out that Miles has decided to apply the old saying “if you can’t beat them, join them” quite literally. After the loss to TCU, the former Notre Dame women’s basketball star has decided to become a Horned Frog. In the process, she essentially replaces van Lith who is moving onto a career in the WNBA.

The loss of Miles is a big one for Notre Dame as she is the No. 1 player available in the transfer portal. TCU is reloading after their Elite Eight run this year, adding Miles Kentucky transfer Clara Silva to the roster.

Head coach Mark Campbell is known for building up talented rosters through the portal, as his squad got as far as it did this season primarily due to transfers van Lith, Sedona Prince and Madison Conner.

Olivia Miles has spent the entirety of her career with Notre Dame and chose to forgo the WNBA Draft to remain in college for her extra year of eligibility that came after suffering an ACL tear.

The star guard also finished her career in South Bend with an injury. In the first round of the NCAA Tournament, she suffered an ankle injury that left her battered and bruised. However, despite talking about the extreme pain, she opted to play in each round.

The 5-10 senior guard averaged 15.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game in her final season with the Notre Dame women’s basketball team.
