The Panini Senior Bowl is here, and Notre Dame will have a few players representing the Irish this weekend. Now, we all know we miss Reese's as the sponser adn it just rolled off the tongue better, but the game still plays the game.
This is a chance for seniors to showcase their talents to all 32 NFL scouts through practices and in the game in order to help and hopefully not hurt their draft stock. Notre Dame has two seniors, wide receiver Malachi Field and defensive back Jalen Stroman, trying to up their NFL Draft stock in Birmingham this weekend.
Malachi Fields and Jalen Stroman both look to shine in the Panini Senior Bowl
After spending four years at Virginia, wide receiver Malachi Fields entered the Transfer Portal and ended up at Notre Dame for his final season in college. It may not have been the best season of his college career, but Field had 36 receptions for 630 yards and five touchdowns on a run-heavy Notre Dame offense.
Fields was the second-leading receiver for the Irish in 2025, only 10 yards behind fellow receiver Jordan Faison, who will play for Notre Dame again in 2026. Right now, it looks like Fields could be a day two guy going somewhere in the second or third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, but he could fall to early day three in the fourth round.
Defensive back Jalen Stroman is listed as a safety, but of course can play either there or at cornerback. Stroman is like Fields in the sense that he spent four seasons at Virginia Tech and then came to Notre Dame for his final year of eligibility.
In Chris Ash's defense, Stroman has the best season of his career with 37 total tackles, 30 solo tackles, two passes defended, one interception, and even one sack. Right now, Stroman could go as an undrafted free agent, but a solid performance in practices and the game could move him to a day three guy for any NFL team needed depth in their secondary.
