2024 Week 3 12-team College Football Playoff rankings prediction
Is the Notre Dame football team back in the College Football Playoff picture after their 66-7 win over the Purdue Boilermakers? The short answer is "not yet." Though they did make some moves back towards the Top 12 thanks to the win.
At the very least, they aren't freefalling like they were after the loss to Northern Illinois. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear they're going to be climbing the rankings all that quickly. In fact, in the latest polls, they moved up just one spot.
Even worse is that they're going to need to pull off some big wins to get back to the College Footbal Playoffs. The problem is that there simply aren't many big wins on the Notre Dame football schedule.
The good news here is that there's already been some serious shakeups when it comes to what the playoff field looked like at the very beginning of the season.

The biggest moves from my previous rankings is very obviously Texas. I didn't see them actually being good enough to win the SEC, but they're now looking like a dominant squad that will romp their way to the top spot on the College Football Playoffs.
There is also the entry of Northern Illinois. Not only did they upset Notre Dame in Week 2, but they are currently the only G5 program in the AP Top 25 and that gives them a chance to move up as the season goes on.
Thomas Hammock has that squad looking like the first to jump into the playoffs in this 12 team era.
The good news for Notre Dame football fans is that there are going to be plenty of opportunities for shakeups. The College Football Playoffs are far from set,
