Now that Christmas is over, there are once again bowl games today. The good news is that there are games all day long. The bad news is that they aren't exactly the best bowl games that a person could want to watch.

That doesn't mean there isn't something that even Notre Dame football fans just aching for sports on the television in today's bowl games. There's at least almost certainly going to be some offense in two of the three games.

Quick Lane Bowl kicks off today's bowl games

The Quick Lane Bowl is one of the weirder games in the entire bowl season. It's not that the game featuring Bowling Green vs Minnesota that's what makes it stand out. There's also the fact that the Golden Gophers really shouldn't be in the bowl games today.

PJ Fleck's crew is 5-7 on the year and they happen to be the only team that doesn't have at least 6 wins coming into their bowl. They get to take on the Falcons at 1pm today because of that rather weird quirk of fate.

Editor's Note: Darius Taylor carried the Golden Gophers on his back on Tuesday afternoon as he carreid the ball 35 times for 208 yards in Minny's 30-24 win.

SERVPRO First Responder Bowl

At 4:30pm, the second of today's bowl games kicks off as the Rice Owls will take on Texas State. If nothing else, this is an interesting matchup between a couple of schools from the Lonestar State.

Both teams have some pretty impressive offensive players, including Luke McCaffrey who is going to be gunning for 1,000 yards receiving. On the other side, Texas State has 3 different players with at least 60 catches and a 1,000 yard rusher.

Editor's Note: This was a back and forth game in the first half, with Texas State taking a 24-21 just before the break. However, Rice was outscored 21-0 in the second half to lose 45-21 and suffer the biggest blowout in today's bowl games.

Guaranteed Rate Bowl

The Guaranteed Rate Bowl is the night cap and the last of today's bowl games. It will feature two offensive powerhouses in Kansas and UNLV. They'll face off at 8pm and will show two programs that have been downtrodden for years squaring off in the post season.
