There was a time, not too long ago where former Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly was considered a top candidate to replace Jim Harbaugh should he ever leave Michigan. It looks like those days have come and gone.

Now that Harbaugh is leaving the Wolverines, there's been a lot of talk about who is going to replace him. And the list of candidates seems to be one. Offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore is thought to be the man who will take over the program.

The only secret that's been kept worse than Sherrone Moore being the next man up for Michigan, is that Brian Kelly is really not all that popular in quite a few college football circles. It's not just Notre Dame football fans who aren't particularly fond of the LSU Tigers head coach.

In the wake of the news that Michigan appears poised to pick Moore, there were more than a few people on social media who seemed to be dancing on Brian Kelly's grave.

One of the most well liked tweets on the subject was a riff on the fact that when Kelly took over the LSU job, he suddenly seemed to have developed a southern accent. There are some who believe something similar happened if he moved to Ann Arbor.

Others believe the coach would literally beat down the door to take over the Wolverines.

Some fans want to see Brian Kelly go to Michigan just to watch the transfer portal go crazy

Finally, there were plenty of users who simply thought the ex-Notre Dame football coach had zero chance of heading to Michigan to take over for Jim Harbaugh.

Anything can happen of course, but with talk of Moore getting the job by Saturday, it certainly seems as though Brian Kelly is sticking with the Bayou Bengals.
