College GameDay celebrity picker may have extreme Notre Dame football bias
With the Notre Dame football game against Texas A&M just days away now, things are starting to get really real. That includes much speculation on who will be picking the game when it’s time for that selection on ESPN College GameDay.
Last week, a Notre Dame fan was the guest picker for the Florida State vs Georgia Tech game. WWE superstar Sheamus was there to select the winner of that game and wrongly picked the Seminoles. However, at the same time, he chose the Blue and Gold to win the national title.
It looks like that means the Notre Dame football team will see two straight weeks of the College GameDay guest picker being a fan. That is if the current vegas odds are to be believed on who ESPN will bring on set on Saturday.
College GameDay guest picker expected to have Notre Dame football bias
While ESPN hasn’t announced who will be the guest picker, Las Vegas has some ideas. Oddsmakers currently think the most likely selection will be Shane Gillis, a noted fan of the Golden Domers.
Gillis currently has the best odds of any choices with a 22.2 percent change of being the guest.
The second highest chances laid out by Vegas oddsmakers is former Texas A&M Aggies quarterback Johnny Manziel who is given 16.7 percent chances.
Tied or third best chances are former Notre Dame football star Jerome Bettis and high profile Fighting Irish fan Vince Vaughn at 11.1 percent.
Famed Irish quarterback Joe Montana follows them with a 9.1 percent chance. The last spot on the list is given to Texas A&M alumnus Tyler Toney who is part of something called Dude Perfect.
(I continue to not really know what that is.)
It is at least somewhat interesting that while College GameDay is in College Station, at the moment, the best odds are for someone with a strong lean towards Notre Dame football is the odds-on choice for guest picker.
