The Notre Dame football team is going to be finding out whether its work to land offensive lineman Owen Strebig paid off in just about a week. The massive 4-star prospect will announce his school of choice on February 8.

In addition to the Wisconsin product announcing his commitment announcement date, he also gave a glimpse into who he’s still considering. The Fighting Irish are apparently facing off against Florida State, Wisconsin, Miami, and USC.

With that kind of a list, the Notre Dame football team would seem to have its work cut out for it. Of course, if some recent Crystal Balls can be believed, it would seem Marcus Freeman and company have already closed the deal. It’s all about an official announcement at this point.

It certainly makes sense if the Irish are the front-runner. The program has prioritized Strebig for quite a while now, and they’ve kept the pressure on since first offering last March. First-year offensive line coach has paid special time and attention after that offer.

Rudolpg stopped by Strebig’s Catholic Memorial High twice during the NCAA winter recruiting contact period. He then paid another visit as this past Tuesday. It’s worth pointing out that it seemed to be the wake of Rudolph’s latest trip were the Crystal Balls predicting the offensive lineman was headed to South Bend.

Strebig also seems to know that right up until February 7, the focus is going to be on the 2024 recruiting class. One of the best offensive linemen in the 2025 cycle, he’s waiting for the previous group to have the spotlight fade.

Assuming that Owen Strebig does pick the Notre Dame football team, he’d be joining a class that is already ranked as the top team in the cycle. In this case, it would certainly be nice to see the rich get richer.
