Now that the Notre Dame basketball team’s season is over, it’s time to turn the focus towards building for the next few years. Luckily it appears that Micah Shrewsberry has something up his sleeve in that regard.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have been working hard to get new talent through the transfer portal. They’ve also been working to bring in high school kids that can boost the program the way that true freshmen like Markus Burton and Braeden Shrewsberry did in 2023-24.

4-star forward Jalen Haralson has narrowed the list of schools he’s considering. The Irish are among the final 9 schools that he’s considering and it’s pretty clear that Shrewsberry and his assistants have been working hard to make inroads.

Haralson, the 6-foot-6, 215 pound forward from La Lumiere, Indiana is easily the top prospect in the state. It just so happens that he’s also considered the 10th best player in the entire class and the second best small forward.

All of that is impressive. It’s a nice little bonus that the Notre Dame basketball team is trying to keep the player in his home state. It might end up being the reason they win this particular recruiting battle.

Notre Dame basketball could stand tall for Jalen Haralson

At the moment, the Notre Dame basketball team is not among the leaders. At least not as most recruiting analyst see it. Those favorites are schools that have had quite a bit more success on the hardwood. The Indiana Hoosiers are considered the favorites by On3

Auburn and Purdue are right there as well. That site believes the Fighitng Irish are a distant fourth in the race.

Micah Shrewsberry is a charismatic man and he’s got Markus Burton he can use as a recruiting tool. If Jalen Haralson wants to play alongside one of the best freshmen in the country, than Notre Dame basketball could have the inside track.
