When Benjamin Morrison was injured last season, Notre Dame football fans were obviously concerned about the Irish and how the defense can help the program to a title. But they were also worried that the injury might be bad enough to hamper his draft prospects when his time in South Bend were over.

However, Morrison has had a rather impressive comeback. He’s been able to be the defender the Fighting Irish have long cherished. He’s led a defense that is once again on of the best in college football.

And in the process, instead of the injury hampering the Notre Dame football star’s prospects, it looks like it might be helping them. Or at least keeping them where they are.

One of the latest NFL draft projections has released what it believes to be the correct picks in the first round of next years’ NFL Draft. While the actual focus was on Carson Beck, the post did also show where they have Morrison being drafted.

Notre Dame football star a first round pick

According to The 33rd Team, Morrison is going to spend his rookie year with the Tampa Bay Bucs after being selected 16th overall.

There are certainly worse places the defensive back could start his career. The Bucs defense is solid and he’ll be able to compliment an offense that is finding its footing this season.

Of course, the goal for the Notre Dame football star is to drive that draft stock even higher. If he keeps playing like he has, that will absolutely happen.
