So far, many names have been mentioned in Notre Dame football’s fall camp. The obvious guys who get talked about the most are dudes like Aneyas Williams and Riley Leonard on the offensive side of the ball. Benjamin Morrison and his quick recovery on the defensive side are also getting a lot of eyeballs.

One guy that came in under the radar that has raised eyebrows is looking to play opposite Morrison this fall. Former 3-star cornerback out of Round Rock, Texas, Leonard Moore is seen as a rising star in the first week of practice.

Notre Dame football's social media accounts have already started to hype up the 6-foot-1, 187 pound corner and it looks like the hype train is only just beginning after he recorded another interception late last week.

Notre Dame football has a freshman shining at corner

If there’s anything standing in the way of Moore’s jump up the depth chart, it appears it’s not his talent. What could get in the way is the fact that there just aren’t a ton of snaps to go around.

As it stands now, Moore likely is third string, with Morrison and Chance Tucker ahead of him at the boundary corner position. There’s room to move there though.

Morrison has caused quite a lot of optimism in his recovery, but he’s not 100 percent yet. Tucker isn’t hurt, but he also hasn’t impressed all that much when looking at public practice clips shared online.

It’s possible Moore could play just well enough to get the attention of Notre Dame football coaches. As they look for answers on a defense expected to be among the best in the country, they might decide that talent can outshine a veteran presence like Tucker’s.
