The college football season has officially started and all of the sudden expectations of Notre Dame football is growing. While most analysts had the Fighting Irish going to the playoffs, it felt like most predictions had them losing early on in the postseason.

However, earlier on Saturday, ESPN College GameDay guest picker and WWE superstar Sheamus chose the Irish to win the National Title. That pick was followed later in the day by an analyst believing the Blue and Gold will get themselves to the championship game.

Former NFL player turned college football podcaster George Wrightser III believes that Notre Dame football will get itself to the College Football Playoffs finals where they will take on the Oregon Ducks.

Notre Dame football slated to go to CFB Playoffs finals

If heading to the finals gets you excited, then you’ll surely enjoy the Irish take to get there. According to Wrightster, Notre Dame will be the No. 9 seed and will have to visit Happy Valley in order to knock off Penn State.

After Marcus Freeman and company pull off that upset, they’ll win an even tougher matchup against the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs. The Irish will then pull off their third straight upset as they take out the Texas Longhorns.

Meanwhile, Oregon is predicted to be the No. 2 seed and take care of business as they knock off Ole Miss and then Ohio State before running into the buzzsaw that is the FIghting Irish.

Unfortunately, the Unafraid Show host doesn’t think that Notre Dame football can pull off four straight upsets nad will finally succumb to the Ducks in the College Football Finals. While I’d rather they win that game, I will absolutely take that performance in Marcus Freeman’s third year at the helm.
