Notre Dame football the subject of most ridiculous rumor of the spring
When you're Notre Dame football head coach Marcus Freeman, you're going to be at the center of plenty rumors. When things are going bad, as they were in his first season in South Bend, there are going to be rumors that his career might be short lived. When things are going good, there are rumors about the popular head coach going elsewhere.
Rumors are part of the game. Notre Dame fans understand that as well. However, when a rumor gets passed around that Freeman is headed to an SEC school that doesn't approach the stature of the Fighting Irish, one has to wonder what kind of nonsense the person who puts them out there is on.
Notre Dame football coach the subject of ridiculous rumors
Enter a website called TWSN. A website that appears to mostly lean on having reporters float the silliest coaching rumors it can come up with. The silliest of the bunch is definitely the idea that 2024 will be Marcus Freeman’s last year in South Bend.
And that when he moves on, he won’t be moving on to what some might see as an easier or bigger job, the way that Brian Kelly did. No, the site believes that Freeman would be an ideal coach for … Arkansas.
“With the fire and energy Freeman brings, it creates a spark in the players to perform above their talent level, and that is an eye-opening factor for recruits as well. All of which would create a spark needed for Arkansas.”
To be fair, the writer isn’t wrong in that Freeman does offer a spark with his approach. They also point out that he’s done well in the transfer portal. What the article doesn’t mention is any reason why Freeman would choose to leave the Notre Dame football team for Arkansas. Likely because there isn’t one.
