This one stings... but everyone knew it was coming. Last night, Notre Dame football star running back Audric Estime confirmed he would forgo his final season of college eligibility and declare for the NFL Draft. This past season, Audric finished as one of the top running backs in the nation. He continued to dominate the field as the best power/speed back in the country.

This season Audric finished with:

  • 1,341 yards
  • 17 catches
  • 142 receiving yards
  • 18 touchdowns
  • 6.4 yards per carry

Audric came to Notre Dame football and dominated from the get-go. He was a near-perfect fit for Freeman's system, ran like a man on a mission, and managed to keep his grades high.

During his St. Joes career, Audric Estime gained lots of college interest. Especially with his grades and numbers. He amassed a total of: 476 rushing attempts, 3,641 yards, and 48 touchdowns Audric was recruited as a 4-star running back, the 4th best in New Jersey, and the 16th-best running back in the country. Simply put, the Fighting Irish got a steal of a recruit.

Notre Dame football star headed to the next level

I personally expect Audric Estime to make some huge noise at the next level. He is one of the more versatile backs in this draft class. He presents a combination of a power/speed back. This year is one of the better draft classes for running backs featuring: Bucky Irving of Oregon, Trayveon Henderson from Ohio State, Trey Benson from FSU, Blake Corum from Michigan, Jonathan Brooks from Texas, Braelen Allen from Wisconsin, and now our own Audric Estime. The 5'11 227 LB RB is one of the flashier players in this class and I for one am escatic for Audric to make it to the league.

So with that being said, thank you Audric Estime. Good luck at the next level. And thank you for a great Notre Dame football career.
