There was a time when Riley Leonard was one of the least favorite players on the Notre Dame football team this season. He’s certainly turned that around. He’s started looking like one of the best quarterbacks in the sport.
No he doesn’t put up super flashy passing numbers. He has just 14 touchdown passes all season. But he also has 13 rushing touchdowns. He’s also thrown for just under 2,000 yards and ran for just under 700 yards. And now he’ll get to show how good he is after the season is over.
Riley Leonard was given and accepted an invite to the Senior Bowl. And for the second straight season, a Notre Dame football quarterback will get the chance to do that.

Sam Hartman was also invited to the Senior Bowl a year ago. While he went undrafted, he signed a contract with the Washington Commanders. Leonard might not end up taking that same path. There is a chance that he could get drafted by someone. Though it seems at this point that he might go later than he’d like. After all, he’s shown an ability to hurt teams with his legs, but his arm leaves something to be desired.
The invite will be a great opportunity for Leonard to improve his draft stock in Mobile, Alabama, and show teams he can handle the intricacies of an NFL offense.
The Notre Dame football star will get to show what he can do on February 1, 2025.
