The biggest problem Notre Dame will face vs. Boise State in Week 6

Boise State will pose a new problem that Notre Dame will not have faced much up to the season at this point.

We continue on in the season, figuring out what the biggest problem will be for Notre Dame to face with each opponent, with Boise State in Week 6. After hitting the road against Arkansas in Week 5, the Fighting Irish will return home to South Bend to take on Mountain West foe Boise State, which made it to the College Football Playoff last season.

Now, let's be real here, this is not the Boise State team that made it to the playoffs last season; they lost one key player that really led them to the playoffs, and that is Ashton Jeanty. Jeanty was the top running back in college football last season, and now he is a first-round pick playing for the Las Vegas Raiders in the NFL in 2025.

So Notre Dame will be facing a new type of Boise State team, which could be either harder or easier because this team will have a new look with new faces in new positions. So, looking at Notre Dame and Boise State's matchup in Week 6, here is the biggest problem that the Fighting Irish will face.

Boise State's defense could pose a threat to Notre Dame's offense

Boise State is returning a very veteran defensive line that could cause a lot of problems for Notre Dame's offense, more importantly, Notre Dame's quarterback. The Fighting Irish still don't know who their starting quarterback will be, will it be CJ Carr or will it be Kenny Minchey?

Either way, this defense is going to be very strong. Not only is the defensive line strong, but eh secondary is strong as well, which could also cause problems in the passing game, especially if the quarterback is being rushed in making decisions and passes.

Notre Dame's offensive line is going to have to be on top of its game when playing the Broncos because this defense is going to get after the ball as much as possible.
