Is there anyone on more fire when it comes to recruiting than Marcus Freeman? Seriously, the Notre Dame football coach is looking brilliant and it feels like no more than four hours can pass by without him landing yet another elite prospect.

On Friday night, the news that everyone was hoping for came in, with 5-star defensive back Joey O'Brien announcing live with 247Sports that he's going to be playing his college ball in South Bend. Boom. In case you missed it, go ahead and watch the clip below to see the exact moment when O'Brien let everyone know of his call. This is something Notre Dame fans are going to be celebrating for quite some time:

5-star safety Joey O'Brien committing to Notre Dame is massive for Marcus Freeman

There were hats on the table for Clemson, Oregon, Penn State and Notre Dame. However, as soon as O'Brien said the following, countless people all over Indiana were overcome with joy, "For the next 3-4 years, I'll be going to Notre Dame."

And just like that, Notre Dame has one of the top recruiting classes in the country. It wasn't just O'Brien who gave Freeman some big news on Friday, as 4-star cornerback Khary Adams also announced his commitment to the Irish.

Don't forget that earlier in the week, touted offensive tackle Grayson McKeogh also picked ND. It's been a week to remember and with a loaded list of weekend official visitors, Notre Dame will look to build on the 19 pledges that are currently South Bend-bound in 2026.

All in all, things have been unreal this cycle for Freeman and his program. After losing to Ohio State in the National Championship Game, Freeman has been making countless moves out on the recruiting trail. Several messages have been sent by him and this staff. The future for Notre Dame is looking even brighter than it did this winter.
