The Notre Dame offense was not efficient on Saturday, struggled on 3rd down and in the red zone

It’s been about four days since the Virginia match up, and it’s given me a good amount of time to think about what really happened Saturday, without looking at the stat line. Another reason why it’s been four days is because Notre Dame is now in full swing academically, and everyone on campus is preparing for their first exams of the semester, including myself.

It wasn’t a pretty win, and the Cavaliers (0-2) played a fantastic football game, which not many were expecting. Virginia is known to play well in September, but that shouldn’t stand as an excuse for the way the Irish played on Saturday. If Notre Dame is serious about still making a run towards the final four at the end of the season, they’re going to have to make a significant amount of adjustments to compete with the best.
