Who are the next four players out of the Notre Dame stable that get their names called at the NFL Draft?

Notre Dame had a big night last night with two first round draft picks, but over the course of the next few days, the Irish look to send triple times that amount. Let’s take a look at who is next and even where they may possibly land.

CJ Prosise RB

One of the names in the draft that has consistently been mentioned as a “dark horse” has been Prosise. Prosise has the speed and the ball skills to make an instant impact at running back and on special teams. If New England doesn’t gobble him up, the New York Giants will.

Nick Martin C

Nick Martin has the NFL bloodlines and he proved his worth time and time again while anchoring the Irish line. His NFL Draft stock is actually pretty high and should be the second center took in the draft. Look for Cincinnati to pick Martin, and if not the Bengals, the Arizona Cardinals get him.

Jaylon Smith LB

Smith’s story has been well documented, and according to Adam Schefter, there are about 10 teams willing to “risk” a draft pick on Smith. I’m willing to bet that those “10 teams” are historically good draft teams. It will either be Pittsburgh or Green Bay.

Sheldon Day DT

If Sheldon Day was just one inch taller, his NFL draft stock would be much much higher than it is right now. As it stands (or he stands) he is what he is. The good news is that he is a better than good quality defensive lineman and teams have needs. Look for Detroit to pull the trigger.

KeiVarae Russell CB

For as loud and vocal as Russell is, the draft buzz around him has been fairly quiet. There are still a handful of corners that will get their name called before Russell, but in a passing league like the NFL, corners are in high demand and so many teams have CB slotted as a “need” for the draft weekend. Look for Oakland to bring Russell back to the west coast.

Next: Stanley Not A Popular Choice

All of this is guesswork at the moment, and trades will be flying around like bags of popcorn at a circus over the next three days. While the destinations for these four may still be cloudy, they will all get drafted.
