ACC announces 2017 ACC Baseball Championship schedule and initiatives

The ACC Championship is set and the conference has released the schedule of events and initiatives.

The ACC has released everything you need to know for the ACC Baseball Championship. From beer sales to special events, the conference has covered everything you’ll want information on as a fan, journalist and player.

Starting with alcohol (of course), this event will serve beer and wine at the stadium for anyone over the legal age who has purchased a ticket for the game.

"The sale of beer and wine to those of legal age will be extended to all ticketed patrons. The alcohol policy enforced by Louisville Slugger Field at games will be in effect for the 2017 ACC Baseball Championship."

For coverage of these games, the ACC will have these aired live on ESPN2 and RSN, and will conclude Sunday May 28 at noon following the ACC Championship game.

"The 2017 ACC Baseball Championship will be played May 23-28 at the Louisville Slugger Field. Pool play and semifinal games on Tuesday-Saturday will be televised on RSN. RSN coverage details can be found at http://theacc.co/base17rsn. The 12-team tournament will conclude with the championship game at noon on Sunday, which will be nationally televised by ESPN2."

Regarding special event, the ACC will have numerous nights with different themes. Starting with FanFest on May 26, the conference will host this even for every fan to get an inside look at the different exhibits and historic sights at the stadium.

"ACC FanFest will take place beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 27 and 10 a.m. on Sunday May 28 during the 2017 ACC Baseball Championship. The free event will feature a special ACC Baseball exhibit from Louisville Slugger Museum, including jerseys and helmets from every ACC baseball team. ACC FanFest will be held at the Hall of Fame Pavilion inside Louisville Slugger Field. Open to the public, the event will include face painting, bourbon tasting, a photo booth, inflatables, merchandise for sale and more attractions for fans of all ages."

The ACC will also host a Military Appreciation Day for all the service men and women who attend the game. This even will be on May 28 and all members of the Wounded Warrior Project will get a VIP experience during the final game of the ACC Baseball Championship.

"The ACC will honor America by recognizing the men and women of the Armed Forces during the 2017 ACC Baseball Championship Game on Sunday, May 28. Wounded Warrior Project® members and their guests have been invited to the game for a VIP experience and on-field recognition, continuing the ACC’s 12-year partnership with the organization."

The final event will be the recognition of the Teachers of the Year candidates. The four educators who are finalists for the award will attend the final game, May 28, and be recognized for the hard work they provide both in the classroom and in the lives of their students.

"The ACC continued an initiative to recognize local Teachers of the Year by inviting them to ACC Championship events. The four Jefferson County Public Schools educators that are finalists to become Kentucky’s 2016 Teacher of the Year and their guests were invited to attend the ACC Baseball Championship Game on Sunday, May 28."
