Notre Dame @ Clemson: Media Guide
By Chase Eyrich
This weekend has been marked on our calendars for a while now, the game that will show the true colors of the Fighting Irish. No.6 Notre Dame is traveling to South Carolina to take on No. 12 Clemson this weekend in a game that many thought would be between Heisman hopefuls Deshaun Watson vs Malik Zaire. But the story of the season, just four games in, is how the Irish will battle through major injuries. One obviously being Zaire. So Clemson lucked out of having to worry about Zaire’s talent, now they have to focus on the emerging Heisman candidate C.J. Prosise.

Prosise will play a critical role in the game with it being held in Death Valley and this being Deshone Kizer’s first true road game start. Prosise has proven to be a great player at the running back position in which he just started playing at this season, but he could be tested this week against Clemson linebacker B.J. Goodson. This has potential to be the best game we will see out of Prosise so far this season. He is a player that is fueled by the competition of the game, and taking on the No. 12 team in the country to prove you’re a legitimate College Playoff contender, should be all the motivation he needs. As long as the O line can hold their own, we should see a very strong performance from Prosise.
The O line will need to play just as well for Deshone Kizer as well. We all know this kid can handle adversity and keep a calm composure, but he has never played in this atmosphere as well. Death Valley is like no other and noise, the crazy atmosphere, and the importance of this game, could be enough to shake the young inexperienced QB. But Notre Dame fans have watched Kizer handle pressure before. After all his first game he had to lead the Irish to a come from behind victory. Also we have watched him improve not only from game to game, but from snap to snap. Irish fans have a lot to feel confident in of the young QB looking to lead the Irish to their biggest win of the season.
