Notre Dame Football: WR Isaah Crocker Interview And Film Breakdown
Notre Dame is interested in WR Isaah Crocker and the feeling is mutual.
Having only landed one true wide receiver in the ’17 class, Jafar Armstrong, Notre Dame has offered a slew of talented pass catchers in the next cycle.
Isaah Crocker is a standout in California, playing at Inderkum High School in Sacramento.
On film, Crocker shows plenty of versatile, natural talent and his 4 star 247Sports Composite ranking shows it.

Although he’s listed at receiver and projects there at the college level, Crocker shows big time play making ability all over the field including as a receiver, ball-hawking defensive back and dangerous kick returner.
Crocker has great speed and shows a really strong ability to change direction and make people miss with the ball in his hands.
He shows that he can win battles and catch the ball in tight coverage. He brings in high thrown balls with his impressive jumping ability and high pointing capability. He also shows that he can adjust to poorly thrown balls as well, making receptions out of likely incomplete-type balls.
His ability as a kick returner is intriguing. He shows good vision and elusiveness.
I spoke with Crocker on the weekend while he was with his team at an Adidas 7 on 7 tournament. He seemed like a great kid and was excited to talk some Notre Dame football. There has been recent buzz about Brian Polian being in contact with him.
Here’s what he had to say.
“They’re supposed to offer me but they have to get authorization from the wide receiver coach because he showed my film and he liked it. He wants to show it to all the staff. I’m just waiting for the approval for them to offer me. Coach Polian started hitting me up last week.”
Crocker has many offers from solid schools including Cal, USC, UCLA, Oregon and Oregon State among others. I asked him which schools had been recruiting him the hardest.
“I’d say Oregon State, USC and UCLA.”
I asked Crocker if he was interested in taking a visit to South Bend in the future. Here’s what he had to say about that.
“I was thinking about spring ball at Notre Dame. If coach Polian would let me get out there, then I would want to see what it’s like and take an unofficial visit to Notre Dame. It would be a good experience. I would love to go out there.”
Crocker then gave me his thoughts on Notre Dame as a whole.
“I think they’re a good team and that they’re in a building process just like Oregon, too. I could tell that, cause I watch a lot of football, about them. I like the original gold helmets. You gotta love them. You can’t go wrong with the Irish.”
As academics are so important when it comes to Notre Dame and their recruiting process, I asked him about how he’s doing academically at Inderkum High School.
“I’m good. I had a 3.1 GPA last semester. My goal is to get over a 3.5 next semester. I need to work on that as I haven’t taken the SAT yet. I’m studying for that.”
I asked Crowder what his 40 yard dash time was.
“Last year, I ran a 4.5 at the Washington camp. At the Michigan camp my 40 was also a 4.5.”
Notre Dame staff will likely be evaluating his film earlier this week and be in contact with him.
