Prediction #2: Ian Book will play

This is where the controversy has been all week. Brandon Wimbush was in a walking boot and on crutches up to Tuesday this week. The QB had hurt his foot on Saturday and ever since that news came out, there’s been speculation as to who will get the start this week.

Brian Kelly considered Wimbush day-to-day and a game-time decision.

Thursday Wimbush was in pads and participating in practice. Kelly has said if Wimbush doesn’t start this week he will be available as a back-up.

I believe that Wimbush will be ready to go and will get the start this Saturday. With that being said, I still think Book will make an appearance.

With the way UNC’s defense struggles, the Irish should be able to put enough points on the board and build a cushion. Just like last week against Miami (OH), Notre Dame’s offense will do their thing, which will allow Book to come in and do his.

If he does, or even if he gets the start, Irish fans should have no worries. We’ve seen a little from Book in-game and his teammates have shown a lot of confidence in him. After practicing with the starters on Tuesday, the buzz has been all about how comfortable he looked. Either way, Notre Dame is in good hands.
