Offensive Guard -Chris Murray – Mater Dei – Santa Ana, California

Mater Dei High School has produced several Notre Dame players including Quarterback John Huarte and Linebacker Joe Schmidt. The famous high school also produced

Murray holds offers from Arizona, Utah, Stanford, UCLA, Washington, Arizona State, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa State, Louisville, Mississippi State, TCU, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt and Washington State.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Murray ranks as the 15th Offensive Guard and 344th player overall in the 2018 class.

With the loss of Tristen Hoge and Parker Boudreaux to transfers, Notre Dame needs interior Offensive Linemen. Murray would fit the build for the Fighting Irish.

Murray visited South Bend for Notre Dame’s blowout victory against the Trojans. Certainly, as a young man from Southern California, it made a huge impact on him. Murray has also visited Arizona and Utah.

According to the 247Sports Crystal Ball, all experts believe that Murray will eventually select the Stanford Cardinal. A win for Notre Dame against Stanford in late November may impact his final decision.

This recruit will not excite many fans. But, his importance in developing quality depth along the Irish interior Offensive Line is critical. Further, he comes from a great program that knows how to win. He would be a great addition to the Fighting Irish class.
