2019 wide receiver Cam Hart out of Maryland has committed to Notre Dame Football.

Cam Hart was last on campus at the beginning of June and clearly it made an impact.  He received an offer while on the visit and has decided to commit to Notre Dame football.

He kept it relatively quiet, but it was an offer he wanted. If he got the offer, it would be hard to beat the Irish for his services.

That obviously was the case, and now Hart has shut down his recruitment and decided that South Bend is the place for him. At the moment, Hart holds 18 offers from the likes of Virginia Tech, Michigan State, Kentucky and more.

What will Hart bring to South Bend?

The 6-3, 195 pound wide receiver is exactly what you look for in a prototypical receiver at the college level. He has the size everyone wants and he’s quite athletic for that size.

He has nice foot work and quick feet for not being a “speed guy.” I’d also point out that he has real solid route running skills and good technique coming out of his break.

Again, what I like the most is clearly his size. And with that size comes a nice catch radius. Hart isn’t afraid to go up and snag the ball away from a defender and that’s exactly what you want to see from someone who isn’t going to blow by you with blazing speed.

Having size and athleticism comes with having versatility. I think the staff could absolutely keep him at his main position — wide receiver — but also could have him contribute at defensive back as well. It wouldn’t be a surprise — as he’s considered an “athlete” on some recruiting sites — but I think wide receiver will do for now for the Irish!

Wide receiver coach Del Alexander and offensive coordinator Chip Long wanted this kid the second he got on campus and they got him. They did a great job locking him up and making him feel wanted by the Irish from the beginning. This class is filling up fast!
