The Notre Dame football program will kick off their 2021 slate against Florida State, going on the road to take on the Seminoles on September 6 inside Doak Campbell Stadium. That will open up a tough 2021 schedule for the Irish, one that will see them take on numerous rivals, and games with some major storylines.

Within the 2021 schedule is a matchup against Wisconsin, the program presumed quarterback Jack Coan recently played for. The following week, Notre Dame will take on Cincinnati, who employed currently defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman last season, and was head coach Brian Kelly’s most recent stop before taking over in South Bend.

While those are tremendous matchups for the program, there are plenty more big-time games in 2021, two of which were ranked as must-see TV.

Notre Dame football has two games listed as must-see TV in 2021

Recently, 247sports.com listed ten games that will be must-see TV during the 2021 college football season. While plenty of teams were listed, only a few saw multiple games on the list, and the Notre Dame football team was one of them.

The two games listed are going to be exciting ones for the program, as the Irish will play host to the North Carolina Tar Heels in a matchup between two teams who battled it out in ACC play last season. The other, a no-brainer, as USC will travel to Notre Dame to continue their rivalry, this after missing out on the matchup due to COVID-19 during the 2020 season.

North Carolina is losing their two-headed monster at running back in Michael Carter and Javonte Williams, but they do return Sam Howell, their quarterback who could be up for the Heisman. USC has reloaded their roster, and are led by a star quarterback of their own, as Kedon Slovis could be the No. 1 overall pick in 2022.

This is a Notre Dame football team that has a lot of work to do in terms of the roster, as they have lost a bunch of talent to the NFL from last year’s team. However, there is still a lot of talent leftover, and as we look towards the 2021 campaign, there is a lot to be excited about, including an outstanding 2021 recruiting class.
