Though a bit of a shock when he declared for the 2021 NFL Draft, former Notre Dame football tight end Tommy Tremble seems to have made the right decision. Heading into the draft cycle, Tremble was seen as maybe a Day 3 selection, but he has been rocketing up draft boards and could end up in the Day 2 mix.

Tremble has a lot of the intangibles you look for in an NFL tight end, as he can catch the ball, is physically gifted, and is a great blocker. Any team would be lucky to add a player with his skill set to their position group, and apparently, plenty of teams have him on their radar.

As we inch closer to the 2021 NFL Draft, we are going to be hearing a lot about Tremble, and where he could land in the next step of his football journey.

Notre Dame football TE Tommy Tremble generating buzz

Not only has Tremble been shooting up the mock drafts, especially the ones who move past just one round, he has also been quite busy. All told, Tremble has currently met or will meet with 13 NFL teams according to Justin Melo of the Draft Network, a list he tweeted out on Friday.

As Melo tweeted, Tremble has a lot of things the NFL covet at the tight end position, and with Michael Mayer taking over as the TE1 for Notre Dame football, striking while the iron was hot, and declaring early could prove huge for him. Today’s NFL requires versatile tight ends who can be effective in several different roles, and Tremble certainly is one of those types of tight ends.

Tremble was not at the Senior Bowl, and the Combine will be virtual this year, so he needs to make sure he builds on the hype by nailing the interview process and having a great Pro Day.

We see it all the time, a player who does not quite dominate at the college level but has the skill set to be a real playmaker in the NFL, especially at this position group. For Tremble, he is going to hear his name called in the 2021 NFL Draft, and any team would be lucky to have him.
