Notre Dame Football lands elite 2022 QB Steve Angeli

The Notre Dame football program has had the luxury of having Ian Book under center the last three seasons, as he carved out a record-setting career for the Irish. Book finished his Notre Dame football career as the all-time winningest quarterback in school history, and will now head to the NFL Draft in hopes of getting drafted.

Replacing Book this season will be graduate transfer Jack Coan, who led Wisconsin to a Big Ten title game the last time he was a full-time starting quarterback. Behind Coan is a group of quarterbacks led by Tyler Buchner, the top-rated prospect coming in via this year’s freshman class, and a player many consider to be the future at the position for Notre Dame football.

On Thursday, a 2022 quarterback joined the party, and he is a special talent coming from an elite school in Bergen County, New Jersey.

Bergen Catholic in Oradell, NJ is a powerhouse program, one that has produced NFL players, including Brian Cushing, a former Pro Bowl linebacker for the Houston Texans. They also play in one of the more elite conferences in the state of New Jersey, as well as the Northeast, a conference that includes the likes of Don Bosco Prep and Saint Joseph Regional High School.

You may recognize the last school mentioned, as that is the school that produced 2021 recruit Audric Estime, a dynamic running back. Estime played against Steve Angeli in high school, and next Fall, the two could be in the same backfield together. Angeli committed to Notre Dame on Thursday, a huge get for the program.

Angeli is one of the top quarterback prospects in the state of New Jersey, and many believe he is going to be a dynamic player at the next level. Remember, Notre Dame football is also in play for Ohio star quarterback Drew Allar, so this could be one special quarterback room moving forward.
