Notre Dame Football: 5 biggest 2021 NFL Draft questions
By Brad Weiss
Does Ian Book get drafted?
The Notre Dame football program had the luxury of having Ian Book under center across the last three seasons, and he proceeded to set the school’s all-time win mark for a signal-caller. Though he has had great success at the college level, he is not actually a prototypical quarterback for the NFL, and many wonder if he will be drafted at all this draft season.
Luckily for Book, he is coming off a solid Senior Bowl week, and many of the scouts felt he threw the ball better than they thought he would. He is a bit of a playmaker who can get the job done with his arm, and his legs, another skill set that plays well in today’s NFL.
Looking at his draft stock, he is going to need a big Pro Day to keep moving the needle in the right direction, as he is not regarded as a Day 1 or 2 pick at this point. He is a player who has the resume to be a draft pick this year and would be an excellent addition to any team, but one wonders if that will be as a selection or an undrafted free agent.
