The Notre Dame Football program got a commitment from a dynamic wide receiver on Wednesday, as Amorion Walker will join the Irish.

On Tuesday morning, the Notre Dame football program got a huge commitment at the wide receiver position. A dynamic wideout from Louisiana, Amorion Walker will join the Irish as a member of their 2022 recruiting class.

Notre Dame Football extended an offer to Walker back in November of last year, and have been high on him for a while, more so than others. The relationship with wide receiver coach Del Alexander and the commit was big, along with what Notre Dame can offer, that sealed this one up once he got the official green light.

At the moment Walker holds 16 offers from the likes of Florida State, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State among others.

What will Walker bring to the Notre Dame Football program?

The 6’4 180-pound wide receiver is going to bring length and a lot of speed. He has an excellent frame, but will definitely need to have some mass and strength before he gets on the field for the Irish. To add to his speed, though, he has great hands, soft hands, and snatches anything that comes his way.

The way he runs through routes is fun to watch because he just glides and looks super smooth. At the end of the day, you can’t teach speed, and being a track athlete as well is always positive.

In my opinion, he is definitely underrated when it comes to the recruiting ranks, but he also hasn’t been able to showcase his abilities like were normally used to because of less football and camps with the shutdowns. That should change quickly if he’s able to compete this fall throughout the camp world, along with his senior season.

With Walker’s commitment, the Irish now have nine pledges, three on defense and six on offense. Walker is the first wide receiver commit in the class but I’d expect the staff to go after some big fish and land 3-4 total receivers this cycle. Walker is a nice start especially when they are emphasizing speed. We will have to wait and see who they target next to join him in the class.
