The Notre Dame Football team is stockpiling talent this recruiting season, and they could now be the favorite for linebacker Joshua Burnham.

For the Notre Dame Football program, the future is certainly looking bright, as they have hit the recruiting trails in a big way over the past few months. Since bringing in Marcus Freeman as their new defensive coordinator, an outstanding recruiter, and football mind, the Irish seem to be flipping big-name prospects all over the country.

The latest is a four-star linebacker who many believed would pick the University of Michigan, as he is an in-state prospect, and has been leaning Wolverines for some time now. However, it seems that ever since Freeman got into the picture, Burnham has started to lean Irish, and all signs are pointing to him committing to the Notre Dame Football program this month.

His commitment date? March 17, which just happens to not only be his birthday, but also St. Patrick’s Day. Getting it now?

Has Notre Dame Football passed Michigan for Burnham?

Freeman has to be playing a huge role here, as he is widely considered one of the best linebacker coaches in the country, no matter what level. In Burnham, the Irish would be getting a 6-foot-4, 215-pound monster who can play sideline to sideline, and a guy who could be a perfect addition to the haul of linebackers they brought in during the 2021 recruiting cycle.

Prince Kollie is an outside linebacker and four-star recruit as well, and he was joined by three three-star guys in Devin Aupiu, Will Schweitzer, and Kahanu Kia. Those are nice players, but if the Irish can land Burnham, they would be getting the No. 9 overall linebacker in the country for the second straight recruiting season.

Even GMB Wolverine, our University of Michigan site on the FanSided network stated that them getting Burnham looks like a lost cause right now. They were the absolute front-runner for this incredibly talented linebacker all along, and now it looks like he is going to be Irish.

So on St. Patrick’s Day, sit back, eat your favorite foods, and drink your favorite drinks, because the Notre Dame Football team could be landing a special talent that day as well. Burnham and Kollie would give the Irish two elite outside linebackers for years to come, and it is looking more and more like that is going to be the case later this month.
