The Notre Dame Football program is getting a stud running back in Audric Estime, who looks ready to help in a big way as a true freshman.

While there are numerous question marks for this Notre Dame Football team heading into the 2021 college football season, running back is not one of them. The Irish return one of the more productive running backs in college football a year ago, as Kyren Williams rushed for over 1,000 yards, and picked up over 300 more through the air.

Behind Williams in terms of returning players is Chris Tyree, who flashed as a true freshman this past season for the Irish. Staying with that theme, the Irish have two incoming true freshman running backs arriving in South Bend this season, making this a position group with a ton of depth.

Audric Etime and Logan Diggs will join a group headlined by Williams and Tyree and should make an impact in Year 1.

Notre Dame Football is loaded at running back

The signing of Estime was huge for the long-term at the running back position, as Notre Dame Football has a nice blend of guys coming back, and talent coming in as a true freshman. Estime was a punishing back during his time at St. Joseph (NJ) Regional High School and certainly looks ready to start dominating at the collegiate level.

Estime posted workout pictures on Sunday night, and based on the shots, he has the build to take on collegiate defenses right now.

Notre Dame Football will have new faces in plenty of key areas this upcoming season, especially on offense, where they will replace eighty percent of their starting offensive line from a year ago, most of their wide receiver production, and all-time winningest quarterback Ian Book. Having Williams and Tyree returning will be huge for quarterback Jack Coan, who will arrive in South Bend as a bridge between Book and Tyler Buchner.

While the Irish are losing a bunch of talent, they have a lot of talent returning, and this is a very impressive incoming freshman class. Estime is going to be a bruising back at the next level, and Notre Dame Football is lucky to have him.
