The Notre Dame Football program is losing an elite left tackle in Liam Eichenberg, who was unbeatable in pass protection the last two years.

The Notre Dame Football team was lucky to have Liam Eichenberg as their anchor the last two seasons, as he became one of the best offensive tackles in college football. Eichenberg, who was an All-American during his time with the Irish, is projected to go in the late-first round, or early second, becoming a young anchor at the next level.

During his time with the Notre Dame Football program, Eichenberg was crucial on a team that won a ton of games and was a starter for two College Football Playoff teams. He and his teammates had unprecedented success when it comes to putting notches in the win column, and his leadership is going to spill over to his pro career.

In fact, over the last two seasons, Eichenberg did not allow a single sack, protecting Ian Book’s blindside as the signal-caller set the school’s all-time wins record. He accomplished everything he could have outside of a national title in South Bend, and will now go on to be at least a second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

As you can see by the clips posted by Pro Football Focus, Eichenberg is as elite as they come when it comes to pass protection, which is going to make him a hot commodity come draft time.

Notre Dame Football losing a lot of talent along the offensive line.

Not only are the Irish losing Eichenberg, but also three more starters along the offensive line, all of which could be selected in the 2021 NFL Draft. Aaron Banks, Robert Hainsey, and Tommy Kraemer are all considered draft prospects, and these four leaving leaves the Notre Dame Football program with questions to be answered along the offensive line.

It remains to be seen how well the Notre Dame Football program will do in 2021, as they are losing more than just talent up front along the offensive line. Some media outlets still like them as a top-10 team, but we will have to see where the team is at during the Spring Game, and towards the summer before we can get a true assessment after so many losses.
