The Notre Dame Football program is losing linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, but he would make the Cleveland Browns defense scary.

The Notre Dame Football program could see as many as ten players selected in the 2021 NFL Draft, a testament to the kind of talent Brian Kelly and his staff have brought to South Bend in recent years. This is a group that has won ten-or-more games in each of the last four seasons, and in 2020, their defense was led by a bonafide star in linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.

JOK did it all for the Irish, flying all over the field and making outstanding tackles, while also playing elite football in coverage. That is the kind of skill set that has made him a legitimate first-round talent in this year’s draft, and nearly every mock draft out there has him landing within the first 32 picks.

Notre Dame Football star mocked to Cleveland

In his latest 2021 NFL Mock Draft, CBS Sports’ Chris Trapasso mocked the Notre Dame Football star to the Cleveland Browns. The move makes sense, as the Browns are building a special unit on the defensive side of the ball, and JOK could be the final piece of the puzzle, especially after adding Jadeveon Clowney to the edge this week.

Edge rusher was seen as a need heading into the 2021 NFL Draft for the Browns, as they have been looking for someone to pair with star Myles Garrett. Now that Clowney is in the fold, the Browns could definitely go linebacker with their first-round pick later this month, and Owusu-Koramoah is one of the top-2 players available at that position group in this draft class.

Most feel that Micah Parsons will be the first linebacker off the board, but he has some character issues that teams will need to sort through, and he also did not play in 2020. That could land JOK above him, but after his Pro Day, Parsons is not going to fall too far in the first round.

It will be an interesting first round for this Notre Dame Football program, as offensive tackle Liam Eichenberg could also creep into the first 32 selections as well. Either way, both figure to go within the first 50 picks, but in JOK’s case, do not be surprised if he is picked higher than expected.
