Notre Dame football: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah’s ceiling and floor in the NFL Draft
By Brad Weiss
Notre Dame Football will see plenty of players selected across the three-day 2021 NFL Draft, and here is the ceiling and floor for Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.
The 2021 NFL Draft kicks off with the first round on Thursday night and based on all the mock drafts we have seen, the Notre Dame Football program is going to be well-represented. This is a special group of players, guys who have been to two College Football Playoffs and have won at least ten games in each of the last four seasons.
As we inch closer to the first round, one name has been standing out in terms of the first member of the Notre Dame Football program to come off the board. That name is Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, and we take a look at what his floor and his ceiling will be in this year’s draft.
Here’s a look at when Notre Dame football fans can expect to see Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah taken with his ceiling & floor
Many experts feel that JOK is the best linebacker prospect in this NFL Draft, and he has the versatility to play all over the field. He is an elite cover guy, can flat-out tackle, and in today’s NFL, he will have star written all over him.
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah’s draft ceiling
Looking across the latest mock drafts, we have seen Owusu-Koramoah go as high as No. 9 overall to the Denver Broncos. In terms of draft need, and the teams selecting in the top-10, this would have to be his ceiling, as there is going to be a run on quarterbacks, and guys like Penei Sewell and Kyle Pitts are slated to go in the first ten picks.
If JOK is selected at No. 9, that would be his best-case scenario and is certainly the ceiling for him in the first round.
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah’s draft floor
There have been mock drafts that have had JOK slipping into the second round, but I do not believe there is any way that happens on draft night. There is just not a lot of top talent at the linebacker position coming out this draft season, and in JOK, a team would be getting a hybrid-type player who can play outside linebacker or even safety in spurts.
If I am an NFL general manager, there is no way I let him slip out of the first round, and I believe his floor will be No. 26 to Cleveland.
This is a draft class with only a few first-round linebackers, and JOK is certainly one of them. The Irish are going to have close to ten players selected across the three-day event, but you can bank on JOK being the first one off the board.
