The Notre Dame Football team saw their fourth player selected on Friday night, as Tommy Tremble landed with the Carolina Panthers.

When Tommy Tremble announced that he would be declaring for the 2021 NFL Draft, many fans of the Irish thought it was crazy. Tremble did not put up huge numbers during his time with the Notre Dame Football program, but he has all the intangibles you look for in a tight end at the next level.

In fact, once he declared, Tremble started to get major buzz, and only improve his draft stock heading into the 2021 NFL Draft. We thought he would be a Day 2 pick, as some even had him as the second-best tight end in this draft class, but in the end, he was the fourth player at his position group off the board.

Notre Dame Football star goes to Carolina

As the second round ticked away, and we turned our eyes to the third round, we finally heard Tremble’s name called. He was selected with the No. 83 pick by the Carolina Panthers, a team turning to Sam Darnold at quarterback in 2021, and one that has a ton of solid talent on both sides of the ball.

Carolina also has a tremendous young head coach in Matt Rhule, who will certainly know how to utilize Tremble.

Our 2021 Draft Tracker has everything you need in terms of the Notre Dame Football program, including the list of those taken, analysis, and grades. This could be a banner year for the Irish, as they now have four players selected on Day 2, and are on pace to have as many as eight players picked across the three-day event.

After being shut out of the first round, the Irish have made a statement in the second and third round.

In our staff predictions, I actually had Tremble going to the Carolina Panthers in the third round, as I felt it was just a perfect fit for him. Tremble is going to be an exciting player at the next level, and Christian McCaffrey is certainly going to benefit from his blocking skills.
