The 2021 Blue-Gold Game will kick off from inside Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday, May 1, and here are four storylines for the contest.

Notre Dame Football will have its Blue-Gold Spring Game this Saturday, May 1st. If you’re looking for a break from the NFL Draft, switching over to NBCSN at 12:30 Eastern would be a good idea. That’s when the Blue-Gold Spring Game kicks off and you’ll have your first shot to watch Notre Dame since an ugly Playoff loss to Alabama.

You can even guarantee an Irish win this weekend.

It’s important to not read too deeply into any one event of the game. If Kyle Hamilton bates Jack Coan into an interception it doesn’t mean the Irish don’t have a quarterback they can trust. It means Hamilton made a great play. In the same vein, if Coan throws over Hamilton’s head it doesn’t mean Hamilton is struggling. It means the offense finally connected on a deep ball. Stay positive.

The most important thing is that this is a fun day for everyone, as well as a productive one for the roster. Who can forget Louis Nix at the Blue-Gold game? He was having fun and so was everyone else. They enjoyed the day, which is what everyone should be doing on Saturday.

Now, that’s what every team’s Spring game should primarily be about.

Still, there are storylines to look into. These will catch us up to where the program is at, including who is trending up and who is trending down. It gives us an exciting look at what changes might be occurring in the program from last season, as well as who might be progressing or regressing.

So, here are four storylines to look for during the Blue-Gold Spring game this Saturday:
