We expected both Daelin Hayes and Ade Ogundeji to be selected in the 2021 NFL Draft, and the Notre Dame Football stars were picked 11 spots apart.

The Notre Dame Football program is having another huge day, as the 2021 NFL Draft continues with rounds four through seven on Saturday afternoon. The Irish saw star quarterback Ian Book be the first signal-caller off the board on Saturday, going in the fourth round to the New Orleans Saints, and a former teammate may be chasing after him before all is said and done.

In the fifth round, the Irish saw star Daelin Hayes come off the board at No. 171, heading to the Baltimore Ravens and their terrific defense. Hayes did a nice job building up his draft stock this draft season, and we figured he would be an early Day 3 pick when we made our predictions earlier this week.

11 picks later, his defensive end counterpart Ade Ogundeji came off the board, landing in the NFC South along with Book, but heading to the Atlanta Falcons. It will be interesting to see these two face off twice a season, and if Book can work his way into the starting line, I am sure Ade would like nothing more than to get after his old friend.

Notre Dame Football dominating the 2021 NFL Draft

After the Ogundeji pick at No. 182, the Irish have now seen eight players come off the board, which is the amount we originally predicted heading into Thursday’s first round. It is possible that the Irish have more than ten players selected at this point, and the next two rounds should be as exciting as the first five.

We still have two full rounds to go, and a few more members of the Irish who are considered legitimate draft prospects, so who knows where the total number ends up. One thing is for sure, this run on Notre Dame Football players is certainly going to help in recruiting this year and for the foreseeable future.
