The Carolina Panthers made Notre Dame Football TE Tommy Tremble their third-round pick, and here is what a team expert had to say about the pick.

The Carolina Panthers selected Notre Dame Football TE Tommy Tremble in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, as he went where most of us predicted he would. Tremble, who did not fill the stat sheet during his time at Notre Dame, has an NFL build, and all the intangibles that NFL scouts look for in a tight end.

He has soft hands, is not afraid to hit someone, and could end up being one of the more elite blocking tight ends in the league. To get a better feel of why the Panthers made him the pick, we decided to reach out to an expert of the team.

We asked Dean Jones, the site expert at CatCrave.com about the selection, and why he thinks the Panthers went with the former Notre Dame Football TE.

"The Panthers needed help at the tight end position after Ian Thomas and Chris Manhertz failed to replicate the production of Greg Olsen. They did sign Dan Arnold in free agency, but getting Tommy Tremble on board offers them something a little bit different and necessary considering their offensive line is still considered suspect until proven otherwise."

Jones then went to speak about how Tremble is going to help this offense take it to the next level.

"Tremble’s blocking is going to come in handy and already looks NFL-ready. There is also plenty of optimism that he can develop his pass-catching skills with a little more in the way of opportunities, although there are so many weapons in Carolina following the draft, there shouldn’t be too much in the way of pressure in this regard."

A building block?

"His physicality and attitude will fit in well with what Matt Rhule is trying to build. Tremble clearly isn’t lacking in confidence judging by his introductory presser, so this might end up being a home-run hit for the Panthers from what was an absolutely outstanding draft overall."

As you can see, not only were Notre Dame Football fans excited when Tremble came off the board, but these are words coming directly from the mouth of a man who covers the team. Tremble has the skill set to be an outstanding tight end at the next level, and he is certainly joining the Panthers at the right time.

After trading for Sam Darnold, Carolina has stacked talent around him, and the team is also getting a healthy Christian McCaffrey back. Sure, it is going to be an uphill battle in the division with the defending Super Bowl champions there, but they have enough young talent to battle for a Wild Card this season if Darnold is the real deal.

With Tremble gone, the Notre Dame Football team will not only be lacking a tremendous player on the field but a leader in the locker room. Luckily, the tight end group for the Irish is loaded with talent and continues to stack talent, and we wish nothing more than for Tremble to have an excellent NFL career moving forward.
