The Notre Dame Football program is losing a star in Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, but the Cleveland Browns could be getting one of their final missing pieces.

The Notre Dame Football team had the luxury of having Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah as a starting linebacker the past few seasons, and he certainly became a key contributor. In fact, JOK became one of the best defensive players in the country, helping lead the Irish to an undefeated regular season in 2020.

A unanimous All-American, JOK was considered a high first-round talent, but he ended up falling into the second round due to a heart issue. Not only was the issue resolved, but the team he landed with at No. 52, the Cleveland Browns, may have gotten the steal of the draft.

After making it all the way to the Divisional Round this past season, Cleveland is looking to take the next step forward, and have done a tremendous job revamping the defense this offseason. In Owusu-Koramoah, they may have found their final piece to the puzzle.

Notre Dame Football star should make a huge impact in Cleveland

Cleveland has some dynamic playmakers on both sides of the ball, and on defense, Myles Garrett is one of the best defensive ends in the league. That could lead to JOK having plenty of playmaking opportunities from his linebacker spot in 2021, as he is not only a tremendous tackler but an elite cover guy.

In fact, at the next level, JOK is going to be a three-down linebacker, and someone the Browns can build their defense around. They are going to have to go through Patrick Mahomes once again if they hope to make it to an AFC title game, so bolstering the defense was the right move this offseason.

JOK may have fallen to the second round, but the Browns ended up getting arguably the most talented defensive player in this draft class. He is going to be used in several different ways in Cleveland, as he has the talent to play in the secondary, up in the box, and at linebacker, making him an early candidate for Defensive Rookie of the Year.
