In their final projections over at D1Baseball.com, Notre Dame Baseball will in fact make the NCAA Tournament, but where do they land in the field of 64?

The 2021 Notre Dame Baseball team has been one of the better squads in the country all season long, navigating a tough ACC schedule along the way. Widely considered one of the better conferences in all of college baseball, the ACC has been owned by the Irish, who went into the ACC Tournament as the No. 1 seed.

Looking back, the Irish have just played consistent baseball all season long, and that has led to them being a top-10 team in the rankings on a weekly basis. With a tremendous blend of excellent pitching, power hitting, and timely at-bats, this is a team that has been put together in a way that helped Link Jarrett win the ACC’s Coach of the Year honors.

With the NCAA Tournament a few weeks away, D1Baseball.com made their final projections for the field of 64, and the Irish were certainly included.

Notre Dame Baseball to host the South Bend Region

In fact, Notre Dame Baseball is going to host a regional according to the website, locking down as the No. 1 team in the South Bend Region. Also included in this region is some tough competition, including Michigan from the Big Ten, LSU from the SEC, and Central Michigan.

Notre Dame has navigated a tough slate all season long and should come out of this region on top. The power-hitting of Niko Kavadas has been something to see, and John Bertrand is one of the better starting pitchers in the country.

As a whole, the lineup has three men hitting over .300, and defensively, the Irish have committed only 21 errors, an extraordinary statistic in its own right.

Overall, it has been a wonderfully surprising season for the Irish, who have a lot of steam heading into the ACC Tournament this week. Even if they do not take the tournament crown, they are still going to be dancing, and possibly doing so in front of their home fans.
