The Notre Dame football program saw many players listed in ESPN’s latest 2022 recruit rankings, including linebacker Jaylen Sneed at No. 50.

The Notre Dame football program is stacking talent for their 2022 recruiting class, one that is ranked No. 2 overall by 247Sports.com. This is a group that has talent on both sides of the ball, as Brian Kelly and his staff have done a tremendous job hitting the ground running for not only 2022, but also 2023.

Recently, ESPN updated their top-300 recruit ranking for the 2022 class, and the Notre Dame football team was well-represented. Leading the way was Jaylen Sneed, who committed to the Irish last week, and was one of the bigger gets we have seen for the program in quite some time.

Sneed came in as the No. 50-ranked prospect on this list, a fitting spot for a guy who is considered the No. 1 player in the state of South Carolina, and the fifth-best linebacker in the country.

The only other top-100 prospect that has committed to the Irish according to ESPN is Niuafe Tuihalamaka, another tremendous linebacker commit. In fact, the Notre Dame football program has four elite linebacker prospects coming in with the 2022 recruiting class, which just happens to be the position group where Marcus Freeman specializes.

Notre Dame football lands 12 recruits on the list

Overall, the Irish landed 12 recruits on this list, including Steve Angeli, the No. 126-ranked prospect, and an incredible quarterback prospect from Bergen Catholic (NJ) High School. Angeli is ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of New Jersey, and the sixth-best pocket passer in the country, giving the Irish a tremendous pipeline at the position.

Nine other members of the Irish’s 2022 class dotted the list as well, including Tyson Ford (158), Joey Tanona (164), Joshua Burnham (175), Ty Chan (224), Jadarian Price (225), Amorion Walker (241), Jaden Mickey (267), Holden Staes (271), and Aiden Gobaira (286).

Since Freeman has joined the staff, it seems like the Irish are on another level in terms of recruiting, and it is only going to get better. They have already landed a five-star recruit for the 2023 recruiting class in Brenan Vernon, a sign that the Irish are going to finally bridge the gap between them and the likes of Alabama, Ohio State, and Clemson.
