We continue to rank the top-25 most impactful players for the 2021 Notre Dame football team, and here are the players that are ranked 25-21 on our list.

As we prepare for a new Notre Dame football season, it is time to do what we bloggers love to do the most: make predictions. The annual ranking of the top-25 most impactful players was started by Douglas Farmer when he was writing for NBC’s Inside the Irish blog.

It involved several Notre Dame media outlets and blogs. Each voter would submit a ballot with their rankings, and then all ballots were totaled to determine the final top 25.

Douglas has since moved on from Inside the Irish, but our writers at Slap the Sign wanted to continue the tradition he started. For this year’s rankings, a total of four ballots were submitted by current and former Slap the Sign writers.

We are not ranking the players based on their talent, but we are ranking them based on who we think will have the greatest impact on the Irish during the 2021 season. In other words: which players will help Notre Dame football win games.

Our countdown started with the four Irish players who earned honorable mention in our rankings. To be named in the honorable mention, players had to appear in the top 25 on at least one ballot. Those four players were: Marist Liufau, Tariq Bracy, Bo Bauer, and Rylie Mills.

Now, we enter the top 25. The first five players on this year’s list represent five different positions. The group includes three players from the 2018 recruiting class who will all be asked to make key contributions, a junior stepping into a starting role, and an exciting sophomore with tons of potential.
