The Schedule

Finally, we take a look at the Irish’s 2021 regular-season schedule, one that starts on the road and then ends with two road games in the final three. Between those, Notre Dame will play a tough slate against some top competition, including four teams that have been ranked within the top-25 of the initial AP Poll.

Luckily, they do not play a road game against a top-25 team in their own building, as the Wisconsin game will take place inside Soldier Field, and the UNC, USC, and Cincinnati games will all be played at Notre Dame Stadium. We also do not know how good Stanford will be in 2021, the team they play to end the season, so that could be a tough matchup as well.

Sure, the bye week comes at a good time for the Irish, but they have to make sure they get there unscathed if they want to be a CFP contender. If they can get off to a fast start, beating Wisconsin inside Soldier Field, and Cincinnati at home, they should roll into the bye in good shape, but back-to-back matchups against USC and UNC loom after the break.
