Notre Dame football: 3 true freshmen who could see extended time vs. Toledo

Lorenzo Styles Jr., Wide Receiver

Lawrence Keys decided to leave the program this week, and that means that the Notre Dame football team got a bit thinner at wide receiver. In his place, you can expect some younger players to step up, and one of those is Lorenzo Styles Jr., a young man gifted with playmaking abilities.

In the first game, Jack Coan proved that he is going to utilize his wide receivers, and based on the depth chart, we could see Styles early and often on Saturday. Especially if the Irish get out to a lead, and the team turns to either Drew Pyne or Tyler Buchner in the second half, you can expect Styles to play a key role down the stretch in this one.

Overall, the Irish have a good opportunity to really make a statement against Toledo, getting out to an early lead, and destroying any chance the Rockets may have for an upset. It would be great if this could happen, because the schedule is going to get tougher from here, and these true freshmen may not have many more chances to shine in Year 1.
